Tough Love. Soft Hate.

There was no push
So I gave no shove
There wasn't any hate
But there wasn't love

The eyes said it all
I wasn't good enough
But I never had the guts
To let myself fall tough

So I cowered behind
A wall of insecurity
And behind it I was shaking
On my withered bloody knees

Fake it Till You're Older

I force a smile but it won't reach my eyes.
But they don't seem to notice as they say goodbye
Appearances kept up to make things seem to be
That we're all getting along together happily

How do I go on when all the lights go dim
When there's no one there to fake it for to keep you in
When there's no one out there staring at the merest sin
It's good enough to drive you mad til you cave in

They don't see
They don't hear
Why bother doing it
Because of fear?

I can breathe
I can move
Because your eyes aren't on mine
I don't have to

Writer's Block?

Stuck in mud
How do I get out
And Get the words to come

Force the inspiration
It's really not the same
They don't meet expectations

Stare at the wind
Watch the trees whisper
They don't make me feel anything

Scream aloud in rage
Tear out my hair
But these feelings seem oddly staged

Thoughts of A Commuter

Romance novel
Kissing couple
Without shame

Homeless woman
Preaching woman
Quick Look away

Shirt, shoes, hat
Red, white, black
Of Every race

Shoving you past
Not moving too fast
Kept up pace

Scrounging rats
Water and trash
Dirty, gray

Sweaty businessman
Thrumming train
Running late, late, late

Close Enough

I want to see perfection
I want to make flawlessness
I want to create geniusness

Because i know
It's the closest I will get
To being it.

Sleepless Brilliance

Wide awake exhausted
Makes perfect sense i've lost it

When lullabies will keep me up
And chirping birds lull me to sleep

Rushing water to drown my burning heart
My thoughts flood into racing cars
That seem to fly as they chase the wind

My peace is gone it was never there
Toss my brain
Turn my mind
It won't leave me alone
Until it's all on paper

The perfect solution

An Adult is Just A Broken Child

Children run wild but free
They care not
How they feel small
And dream of stars

Then comes mother and
With her sharp tongue
Cuts the stars down
One by one

Soon they're left in the dark
To make lights
Out of broken stars

Now they run but not free
They fear
How they feel small
And dream of stars
